The United Nations Organization was established in 1945 after World War II had ended.  It replaced the League of Nations and its purpose was to stop wars between countries around the world and to further communication between them.  There are currently 192 members of the United Nations, and it includes almost every sovereign state in the world.

The UN flag has existed since 1947 and consists of the UN logo upon a blue background.   The reason that blue is used with the United Nations emblem is because they felt it was the opposite of red, and red often represents war.  Our flags are true to the original design and are made of durable nylon fabric.  Find the UN flag in various sizes below.
